At Adirondack Corp., a 100% veteran-owned and operated organization, we are dedicated to providing mission-based employment to those who served, including our disabled veteran community. We believe that everyone should have equal access to our digital portal and the opportunities we provide. Our commitment to accessibility is a core part of our mission to help veterans transition to civilian life. 

Our Commitment to Accessibility 

Adirondack Corp. is committed to making its website, www.adirondackcorp.org, accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines. Our goal is to ensure that our Veterans Helping Veterans portal is as functional as our Chicken Coops, Fire Sheds, and Animal Shelters.

We strive to conform to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines helps make the web more user-friendly for all people. While Adirondack Corp. strives to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website, especially in legacy documents. 

Features for Enhanced Accessibility 

To assist our veteran sub-contractors and donors, we focus on the following digital features:

• Alt Text: We use descriptive alternative text for images to ensure those using screen readers can understand the visual context of our pallet logistics mission.

• Contrast and Fonts: We utilize high-contrast color schemes and legible fonts to aid those with visual impairments.

• Keyboard Navigation: Our site is designed to be navigable via keyboard for users who cannot use a traditional mouse.

• Structured Content: We use clear H1, H2, and H3 headers to help screen readers navigate our legal and service pages efficiently.

Continuous Improvement 

Adirondack Corp. views accessibility as an ongoing effort. We continually review our site—including our pages for Garages and Pole Barns—to ensure we are meeting modern standards. We regularly update our "digital landscape" to ensure that as our business grows across New York and Pennsylvania, our digital inclusivity grows with it.
